Friday evening - Prayer opens eyes
Good evening,
As you know we were praying that Nan would be awake enough today to recognize Jason, Nikki and Keanna since they all have to travel back home. When we got to her room this morning she was awake with eyes blue and transparent, little wrinkles of her forehead when she was not totally pleased with what was said or was obvious. She clearly recognized all of us and enjoyed Keanna singing a number of songs that were made up on the spot for her Grammie. Nurses came by to see her in action and observed what a helper she was.
Jason really wrestled with saying good bye to his mom since he leaves on a mission trip to South Africa and will be gone for 3 weeks. Yet we all know that Nan felt very strongly that Jason and Jo make this trip as planned. Someone wrote to me this evening reminding me that she had talked to Nan just before the surgery and Nan made a very emphatic point of wanting not to disturb Jason and Jos trip. So it seems God has helped Nan recover to the point where Jason can leave with a degree of confidence that Nan is doing better.
Nikki said her goodbyes this evening since we go to the airport very early in the morning. She and Keanna were with mom for quite a while and mom opened her eyes and made good contact over and over with them. Toward the end Keanna held up a page in a book she had been creating with stickers so Nan could see it and she opened her eyes and took it all in. Then all too soon it was time to walk out the door and let Nan rest. Our kids are a wonderful balance of strength, faith and tender hearts. We treasure them with all our hearts and their coming here, dropping everything will always occupy a special place in our hearts. This is real love, no doubt about it.
We are ready to fall asleep now, its 10:30 and we have to get up at 5:45 so short night.
Please continue to pray for Nans kidneys, liver and heart.
Thanks,
love

Dear Mustard Family,
We pray especially for You Tim as You must now Help Nan wake up by Yourself, But Who better to do it than the One in this world that Nan loves most of all. You are that One Tim and I know that with the Almightys helping Hand It will be done.
When Peace like a river attendeth My soul , When sorrows like sea billows roll, what ever My lot Thou hast taught Me to say, "It is Well, It is Well with My Soul. Remember when We sang that song together Tim ? Those beautiful words are always a great comfort to Me I'm sure that they will comfort You. Sing them over and over in Your mind and the promise will be fulfilled for You.
Sleep well as We all Pray for "Joy in the Morning "
Much Love,
Bob & Carrol

We love to get your blog comments. It makes us feel as if we are there. After no comments Thursday we were worried but 3 today made up for it. I know today and tomorrow are difficult for you to see your kids (and tangible support) leave. It was great that they could be there so long. Glad that Nan is starting to respond. She has been thru a lot. Our prayers are with both of you.

Good morning Tim - you are on your way to the airport right now with Nikki and Keanna. It's hard to say goodbye to the kids - I know. God will give you strength and courage to carry on - I know that too!!! Many good responses from Nan - precious Keanna singing her songs to her Grammie - sweet!! Have a good Sabbath and know that I'm praying for you, the kids - Jason and Jo's travels - and of course our precious Nan. Marilyn in Lincoln

Good Morning Tim,
Yes, you are in our prayers especially today as your family is leaving. As with Bob and Carrol I leave you with a song. I remember your solo in "Sometimes I feel Like a Motherless Child". You sang it with such passion. I'm sure you are feeling that same passion today. Yes, God is there for you and it can be "Well With Your Soul". You remain in our prayers.

Happy Sabbath, Tim:
I'm so grateful to God that Nan's condition is going in the right direction, especially for Jason and Nikki and Keanan's sake before they left. I trust you took some pictures. If not, buy a "throw away" camera and document the rest of the journey. It will bring you much courage and memories later.
Also, remember He is the Champion of Love and with Him on our side, there is nothing we can't accomplish!
Hugs to you both!

It is great Tim that you have had each other while waiting for Nan to wake up. Now the void of your children can be helped with Nan's new alertness. Prayers as always for Nan. And all the happy thoughts we have to you and your loved ones.
Lv,
Pam :)
