On the move

Dear Friends,
Nan called this morning at 5:30 and had some news. When the Drs were there for their rounds they told her she would be leaving the hospital in the next day or two for a rehab hospital nearby. They are searching for a spare bed in one of two facilities right now. When I spoke to Michelle, Dr. Bertagnolli's physician assistant later she said rehab stays can be 2 days or 2 weeks or more. Her course of care will continue but in a more relaxed setting. They will move her in an ambulance and even bring her back in an ambulance to the Dr. appointment she will have later in the week. Strange but what do we know.
So here I am on the west coast and they decide to set Nan free. Wish I would have known. We are thrilled that she is progressing so fast but once again it is very unsettling to think of yet another chance of location and care givers. Nan said it best, I wish you were here with me.
So the plane cannot fly fast enough tomorrow to get me back there to my sweetie.
I am trying to jam as much work into my time here as possible. Homeowners have been very helpful in letting me into their homes on short notice and things are working out.

I will write more later when I know more. Nan did start Gleevec last evening, small dosage at first and then build up with it. That is good news as these nasty terrible tumors do tend to come back rapidly.

Please pray for Nan today that things will work out smoothly for her transition out of the hospital and into the rehab. Thanks for your help in all ways my friends.
