A quiet evening

Dear Friends,
Nan is searching for sleep now. She has had a tough day with lots of pain in her back, legs and stomach. She has been willing to walk around the pod twice today, has been up several times and has eaten three meals. She is currently getting Gleevec 3 times per day through her feeding tube, a sleeping medicine, an antibiotic for a possible Staph infection from a PCK line, 24 hour forced feeding through the nose tube and other smaller meds like aciphex, potassium, magnessium and beta blockers for her heart. She has eaten cereal, milk, tea, fruit, crackers, cheese, rice, potato, and other various items. However all of these were eaten in very small quanities.
This will be short tonight, Nan is already snoring her cute little snoring sounds and the room is totally dark. The nurse has done all he has to so she might be able to sleep for a few hours. Sure hope so. Nikki and Keanna just called and that was great fun to hear their loving voices. Keanna is getting pretty good at long long phone conversations. So cute.
We got sad news today, remember our friends Roger and Carol who live in North Carolina. They had sold their property, Lakemont Cottages, had placed a contract on several properties and were set to close in a few days. They got word today that the buyers have decided NOT to buy after all, signed contracts, week of inspections, lots of future planning and suddenly they pull the plug on the deal. Amazingly bad news. They are handling it well and trusting in the Lord to make all things work out but it still is very disappointing, they were well into packing already. Our hearts really go out to them tonight and I think they need our prayers that God will continue to guide and lead in their decisions.
I certainly seek your prayers tonight for Nan. I am seeking God's inspiration for her that she will begin to see herself getting well, that she will find hope and courage to want to walk more, to want to get up and sit up more, that the old fight that she is famous for will kick in. How I love this gentle and lovely woman. It is a privilege to put lotion on her back or her feet, to help her stand or find a better position in the bed, to make sure her water bottle is near by, that she is given all the care she needs.
Thank you for your generous help in all ways, we have many cards, a lovely bouquet of flowers from Sharon, caring emails and ecards and are reminded every day that we have the best friends and family in the world. Can you join me in asking God for the blessings He wants to give each of us in our own situations, it is so easy to forget to seek what He has to give. He loves each of us, has forgiven us and desires only the best for us, so we need to ask.
I want to thank Nan's classmates who have been so supportive to our family throughout the entire experience here in Boston. Especially Bonnie and Luella, we will not forget your help and support.
with love

    Hey Dad,
We're in London right now and we're praying for mom and you both. Had a great finish to our trip. Just one more behemoth plane ride and we'll be home. Hope to see you soon.
    Love,
