Walking fast this morning.

Dear Friends,
Well I had an entire blog written and a computer gremlin lost everything.

Nan had the best night she has had yet since surgery. The first half was aided by a sleeping pill and the second half by a pain pill. She slept till nearly 7 this morning which was great. She called me when she woke up and I came over. She had breakfast and I think enjoyed her Cream of Wheat and some milk. When Dana came Nan was ready to walk. Today she went about 3 times as much as she has walked before and did it fast and furious. When she got back she sat in a chair, had her hair done, got washed down and then headed back to the bed. She has slept quite a bit in spite of the numerous different people at the door. Dana went shopping at a nearby grocery store and came back with lots of tempting items to try to get Nan to eat more. Lunch was not too bad, she had soup and crackers, some hot tea and some cheese and crackers Dana had prepared. Then a little pain pill and more sleep now for the last couple hours. When she wakes we will see about another walk and any other food that tempts her. The nurse just opened the door and told Nan that the doctors want her to drink boost instead of water when she is thirsty. We know that pushing water helps lower creatins but of course Drs know best.
The plastic surgery Dr. came by and was very impressed with the healing taking place in her incision wound. He thinks it about time to use a suction sponge but surgery will need to sign off on it. Dr. Bertagnolli is supposed to be here tomorrow after a couple weeks in Wyoming on a ranch. It will be up to her. We are also supposed to be moving to a rehab hospital soon, possibly tomorrow. We need to get the vacuum sponge in place before we leave the hospital or it won't happen since they don't put them in at the rehab hospital but will care for them if they are in place. Perhaps we should pray that God will take control of this process of moving and getting the wound healed up. The Plastic Dr. says the vacuum sponge can speed up the healing of the wound, up to 3 times as fast so we would like to see it done.
We are having a good day with Nan being slightly more positive about things. She now only has 2 lines, one food line and one IV of antibiotics for the possible Staph infection.
I hope this blog finds you having a good sunday.
Thank you for your wonderful support and prayers. We are doing well over all here. Its been a long long run and we are not quite at the goal post yet.
we send our love and appreciation for cards, emails, donations and calls. We anxiously await the chance to see each of you soon and tell you personally how much we appreciate your help.

with love

    Hi Tim Erin and Dana.
Glad to hear that Erin is up and doing well today. Just keep on trying and soon you will be on that plane on the way home. Well it is very hot here today and I'm on my way to work at the corn fest. It is already 100 I'm not lookin foward to going. Erin I will be thinking of you when I'm there. I remember when you and Tim used to work with Ken counting money. At least you were inside I have to work outside supplying the corn boths, it doesn't sound like fun. We went on Friday to see the fire works and the place was packed they actually had to close the gates.

Well I have to leave talk to you all soon and take care of each other.

    Hi Tim & Nan,

So good to hear that Nan is moving about more & more and eating a variety of goodies. Things are certianly moving in the right direction now. Lets keep the great things coming.

We can verify for You that it is HOT here. I just got back from a quick trip across town to the Care facility that My Mother lives in and the outside Temp indicator in the car read 107 as I parked in Our garage at 5:30. The weather people say it will be cooler tomorrow , supposed to be a high of 90, I sure hope that they are right. Air Conditioning is such a great thing to have and We pray every day for no failure in the system. What did We ever do with out A.C. in days past. I remember trips across the country in July with the car windows wide open . Can't see Us doing that now! We are truly blessed and spoiled for sure.

Have another good night Nan, You too Tim . Tomorrow will bring the new bandage and more healing.

Much Love and continued Prayers for You Both,

    Bob & Carrol

    Hi Tim and Nan,
Sorry we missed your call this evening. We felt a need to get away and clear our heads a bit. Tomorrow we start undoing all the things we had in place before our sale fell through. Then we are going to Pigeon Forge for a couple of days. We need an attitude adjustment then we will be ready to come home and start anew. We will have both of our cell phones with us so we can keep in touch.

I'm so glad you are getting some sleep, Nan. Sleep is so healing! Also, it helps when you can get rid of some of that pain. Keep up the good work. We're praying for you. I'll think about you at Dollywood on Tuesday. I wish you could be with us. We'll be back Wednesday evening.

Love you ~ Carol and Roger
