A day of rest for Nan

Dear Family and Friends,
How I enjoyed reading the various comments emailed to the blog today. I was touched by every one and to each of you, thanks for caring enough to write. nan will get to read them in the morning.
Nan and I have been together, joined at the hip almost all day today. Dana has created tasty food including biscuits and gravy with fried eggs for breakfast, warmed left overs that were great for lunch. Dana has managed to find a very sore back today so has slept on a heating pad from time to time in our bed upstairs. Marilyn is on her way back from visiting Barb and Gerry up in Sacramento area. Nan is sipping warm water and is considering moving back to her bed for the night. I'm about to set up her TPN for the night. She has slept a lot today but has gotten to talk on the phone to Sharon and Aunt Ann, Art and just now to Marilyn who is on her way back.
We enjoyed attending Loma Linda worship service today via the dish Donna provided for us. The music, encouraging preaching and beautiful pictures really help set a tone for the day. We've had very little in the way of fevers today for Nan but she has had many short sessions of stomach upset. She is a brave lady but is so weak and tired these days.
Dana has decided to return home tomorrow morning so we leave here about 8 am to drive to Oakland where she will hope to fly non stop directly to Houston. I say hope because she is a non revenue flyer and has to go everywhere standby. She was amazed to discover that the flights had room left for the trip home. We will miss her so much, she has been a great help to our family and especially to Nan who loves and adores Dana. Watching the two of them reminds me of what a great idea God had when He created families.
Another day without any income, we have passed the crucial place and are now courting disaster once again financially. Yes there is plenty of money on the books but first the client has to actually mail a check in. Please Lord, touch hearts of those who owe, please help us in your own special way.
We have had much rest today. Yet I sense tonight will be a short night. Thank you again for your wonderful messages to the blog today. Each message takes us on a different journey mentally to times we have spent with that person, good times. This friendship stuff is great, really provides a wonderful encouraging lift when one tends to be down or heavy laden.
So we send our love to each and every one of you,

tim and nan and dana and marilyn

Hello to everyone at the Mustard home! Thank you for "letting" Marilyn come up for a visit today. We had a nice chit-chat session remembering some of the good old times we had together at Central Church. Then we tried to figure out the legal stuff about capital gains and why one needs to live in a home for two years before selling???? We ended up deciding we need to get the little booklet and read up on the info for ourselves.

It's late and I need to get to bed before Gerry comes down the hallway and threatens to turn off the circuit breaker again.

We our lifting our prayers up to heaven to remind God that He is in charge and to please give Nan some comfort. I also like to thank Him for letting us become acquainted with Nan and her family...so many good times we have had!! At the cabin, on a cruise, at our homes, and all those other places in between. Oh yes, and the time I tried to change my clothes in the back of your motorhome while going down the freeway...the old motorhome...and I could hardly stand up! Wheeee, what a ride! We send our love to you. Barbie

We were very excited to talk to Nan again today. We had a nice crowd for Sabbath lunch and tonight Aunt Ann and I watched Our Ice Hockey Team beat Corpus Christi!!!!!!!!!! It was Aunt Ann's first ice hockey game and we watched it on the computer. Had to have Rodney come set it up for us, but what are sons for?
We are going to Mexico this A.M. and then they will start their trip on to Alabama to see Aunt Ann's sister.
It is cold but dry this morning. This is our winter and it has been in the 50's for the past 3 days with drizzle. Miss the sunshine!
Have a good day and know that we are praying for you and love you dearly.

    Sharon

    Good Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where have all the cares of yesterday gone? What about the cares of tomorrow?

Wait, I know, yesterdays cares are gone and soon forgotten, tomorrows cares may never come and are not deserving of our concern. That leaves today which is a day that the Lord has made and his command was to rejoice and be glad in it! This can only work if we play our little bitty part and let God play the really big part.

For example if you get the parts in the wrong sizes things don't work as well. Rejoyce would only work for our friends Rod and Joyce Western or Glen and Joyce Conner after they have had a disagreement and kiss and make up. That would be a Rejoyce! But just for them and not so great for the rest of us.

So all the days of our lives I pray for us that our perspective is right and that we will be able to Rejoice each day in the Biblical sense. This will of course have to be mixed with our own real day which in the little pespective view might seem impossible.

There is of course one exciting prospect to this situation. What if I mix my stuff with God's stuff? Wala! Impossible is gone! For with God all things are possible.

Welcome to our day with God, where all things are possible and all my problems are not as big when viewed in this context. There is now room to see what good there is today. What friends I might appreciate. What love there is to enjoy. What good work there is to do. Yes and even what joy there is relish.

    Rejoyce uh I mean Rejoice!

    Wes

It's evening here in NC and I'm just now getting to the blog. Deb has been here busily cleaning cottages for us. What a blessing that is! She has done 4 today and all I have to do is make the beds and put the supplies in. AND clean the one she didn't have time to do. Not so bad ~ no one is coming in until Thursday anyway.

The fall season is over and we are now focusing on the Christmas decorations. We decorate nearly as much for fall as for Christmas around here. So today all the fall stuff is cleaned and packed away for next year and I'm digging through the Christmas decorations looking for just the right combinations. We have 2 lighted deer we put down by the sign and decorate the sign with poinsettias, greenery and red bows. I decorate around the entrance to our house also, but I doubt very seriously that I can get Roger to put up outside lights ~ maybe? We have some nice icicle lights that haven't been up for about 5 years.

I know it was sad to see Dana leave today. I hope her flight worked out well for her and she didn't have to fly all over the country to get home this time. She has been a real blessing to ya'll. You certainly must have some leftovers and some goodies in the refrigerator and freezer to remind you of her hard work.

Has Nan had any more in her colostomy bag or was that just a one time overflow? More would be good... You seem to have the pain level under control now. Our prayers for pain control have been answered on that one ~ Now for the fever.....

May your week be filled with checks in the mail, enough work to keep you afloat, enough sleep to rejuvenate your body and a lot of peace in your life.

    Love and prayers ~ Carol

    Hi Mustards,

Along with Carol Peden We hope that Dana's trip Home has been a quick one. By watching the News reports on Airport delays today We are keeping Our fingers crossed for Her to make it .

Our Company left for home in So. Cal (Tustin ) at 8:00 this morning. We enjoyed some good Visiting , games & Food with them and Hope that their long drive home went well. The Highways are so congested it seems like everyone is on the road at the same time these days.

We Pray that this coming week will bring increased comfort for Nan and a Mail Box full of $$ for You too.

Hi to Marilyn; and Have a good rest this evening knowing that the 49er's & Raider's each finally won another Game ! They are both so Pathetic!

    Love & Prayers,

    Bob & Carrol.
