Rough day, good landing!

Dear Friends and Family,
Nan has had a rough day, lots of tears which is very very rare for Nan and bummer events. She was told this morning that she would be having her port a cath taken out of her chest in the OR and that she would be getting a new PICC line in her arm. She thought that they would do both while she was under general. But they showed up this morning to do the PICC line with several people. She was very sad and frightened about the pain connected. But bravely she faced it and it turned out better than usual, they were very careful. Tomorrow afternoon she will be go to OR to have the port removed and in the morning they will take out her current vacuum suction and put a new one in. She is not looking forward to that but can tell that the incision is now smaller than before, it is healing.
I decided to go visit the Whoville, I mean Youville rehab place so took the T trains and after an hour I arrived in Harvard Square, it was raining, I was in shorts and tennis shoes. I started off using the map they had supplied but went the wrong way, like any good man would do I ask directions from a store clerk and he got me going right. So in 30 minutes walking I found the place, it is really neat, well maintained and real professional. I got a nice tour and felt a lot better about the place after visiting. We think nan might be released to Youville on friday afternoon.
Also on Friday afternoon, Sharon is coming for a visit. nan is so thrilled, she misses Dana and was hoping Sharon could come to see her. Kindly Sharon has agreed to come in spite of being busier than a one armed paper hanger. We can't wait to see her and thanks Troy for helping with travel arrangements, what a nice family we have!!

I am heading to bed early this evening so i can rise early and be there when the doctors come through on rounds. nan wants it this way so its good for me as well.

Your prayers for nan have certainly been working. When I got back this evening she was ready to walk again and we walked the floor twice with power and speed. I think she will surprise them over at Whoville.

We have heard that the person from Sharon and Ricks church that is so ill with no idea yet of what is wrong is being pumped up a bit so she can be taken to the Mayo Clinic. Its a very strange situation and she sure can use our prayers. I think her name is Diane but I'm not sure.

So our rough day turned out good and we are praising God for His leading and care.

Thank you good friend for your prayers and financial assistance. We are going to make it through this, yes we are thanks to God and His servants.

Please pray that the minor surgery will go well tomorrow and nan can continue to grow in strength.

love

tim and nan

    Hi Mustards,

We read the first blog today and as Nan, We were a bit discouraged. It was good to read the 2nd one and feel the more positive attitude coming thru again from Nan the Fighter.

We will continue to lift Her up in prayer and trust that the Lord will make things move smothly for you both.

Glad that you were able to see where She will be moving and that You are more at ease with it after Your Visit.

We will also remember The Surgery time, Surgery is always scary ,Just the Word is not one of My favorites.

    Much Love ,

    Bob & Carrol
