A bit of better news

We discovered that the right nephrostomy tube had been blocked or kinked and had leaked onto the bed. The nurse changed the bed protector under her and we got all the tubes straight and hanging over the side the bed and they are draining nice urine out now. Nan is in the middle of a very nasty episode of shakes and shivers. Her fever is only 99 right now under her arm but uncovering her to do the necessary work of turning her caused her to lose body heat and she is suddenly very cold which probably means the fever is going to increase shortly. While they had her blankets off they took a careful bed weight and it appears that she is down from when she came in by several pounds or the first weight was wrong. She is about 156 now it appears. She continues to breath in short choppy breathes. I went and got a warm blanket in spite of the fever threat just to see if we could get the shivering stopped, her breathing is slowing now to a more normal rate but it is still much faster than it should be, she is breathing like she just ran a mile and is trying to catch her breath. At least we know her kidneys have NOT stopped putting out urine, since the discovery of the kinked and leaking tubes she has already put out about 100 ml in her right bag which is real progress.
Just had to let you know.
