Sabbath Morning Report

This is a quick report regarding Nan's condition as of 8:35 Sabbath Morning. While we had a nice evening and turned in about 10 pm it was discovered through a vitals check that she was having a fever. The fever continued all night with heart rates of about 135 and was 101.3 this morning about 6 am. Finally they gave tylenol and held off the Gleevec for a couple hours. As of yet the fever is still with us. We were very disappointed to still have a fever after most of the day without one. The nursing team we have today is much less caring than what we have had during the week so we will be doing a bit more of our own care today. Nan is very very alert, opened her own jello, held and drank her chicken broth and hot tea. She has been recalling events from a long time ago and more recent which again demonstrates that her rip van winkle sleeping is probably over. We both slept well last night with the normal hospital interuptions during the night but they were short and bearable. Today we hope to get her up in the chair and walk short distances, but for now a nap is in order I think. So far they can't find the antibiotic this morning to give her. And we are having to beg to get weighed when for the last few days they did it first thing. I guess the weekend crew takes it a little easier perhaps. They are very nice just do things differently.
Have a nice Sabbath, we hope to here in room 311.

Love

tim and nan
