Sunday evening, Barb and Gerry arrive

Dear Family and Friends,
We are coming to the end of another eventful day. Barb and Gerry arrived this afternoon at 4 as planned and we now have two clean cars and some very good food to eat for dinner. We had a decent night, up many times but nice rest in between. Less pain meds as we introducted antibiotic again to deal with the kidney infection. nan has been down in her recliner for most of the day and has a stronger voice, feels better in general and has gone hours without pain meds at times.
I have split my time between sitting with her, caring for her needs and sorting and working on taxes for 2005. I am nearly ready to turn it over to Ken now.
Tomorrow Gerry and I are going out to see properties and Barbara and nan are going to guard the home site. Tomorrow morning Terry is coming about 8 to see nan and then the wound care nurse will come later.
We have been giving Nan antibiotics and we think we see the beginning of improvement in the side and back pain. Yet we maintain hope for better days ahead.
So now its rest time. It was good to hear from friends today. It is always good to hear from friends and family.
Art called today and drove out to visit us. Its been some time since I got to see Art and it was great to reconnect the voice that means so much to me every day with the smiling face. Thanks Connie for sharing Art with us for awhile. What a special guy you have on your hands. Just great to shake hands and to feel the support!

    Tim,

On your mark. Get set. Go! Yes my friend it is a new week with new adventures and opportunities. Oh, yea there will be challenges too, no doubt. It should be better though because you have a wingman to work with and extra troops on the home front. So rise and shine. Have a great day.

May God bless you and keep you and give you peace. Joy and care are in your home with Gerry and Barb. Relish the day and the moment just like you are always telling us. Enjoy your turn!

    Wes

    Hi Mustards,

We are happy that Gerry & Barb arrived and are giving You a welcome diversion from everyday things. A Clean Car is always welcome & I'm sure the home cooked Meal was a treat too.

We spent a rather quiet day (Nascar Race on TV) till 2:00 or so then a trip to Stockton CostCo. That is always an adventure. Finding Parking, Shoping Basket,The Crowded Isles and long lines at the Check Out Stand. We found what We went there for and It was in the same place as the last visit! (How They seem to love to move things around there) The Gas was a little Cheaper(or should I say a bit less expensive ) than here in Lodi. $2.83 and no waiting in a long line this time! The $1:50 Hot Dog Lunch line was very long & crowded but was a treat and no dishes to wash! That Store never fails to amaze Me as to how many People are there no matter what time You choose to go.

The Weather People are telling Us 80's today, quite a change from the last two days of 68/70.The leaves are falling fast & furiously now and soon it will be time for the annual "Gutter Cleaning", thank goodness for a Great "Yard Man" that takes care of that detail for Us every Year. For the last 5 Years I have stayed off of any ladders that are more that 24 inches high. Five Years ago I had a Good Friend fall to His Death on His driveway doing the "Gutter Thing". His Wife had begged Him to get someone to do the gutters but to no avail. I guess that event woke Me up to what can happen so quickly. Seems that after 65 Years one's body slows down (at least Mine) & things that used be so easy become more difficult and sometimes even a bit risky.

Have a good Day and as always We ask the Lord to be with You on the Roads and for Nan, Pain relief and Healing.

    Love You,

    Bob & Carrol.

PS: Carrol's Hand continues to heal well and She is gaining more feeling in Her fingers daily. She has a Lab Work Appointment tomorrow at 11:00 here in Lodi.

Finally a few minutes to read the blog and send out a comment!

Today has been very full with, exercise at the "Y", grocery shopping, went to physical therapy for my pinched nerve in my neck, then to Dad's apartment to turn their mattress, put on a new thicker mattress pad and new pillows, then off to the airport to pick up Dad and Barbara. They left 10 days ago for a family reunion in LA then to Portland to a Maranatha convention. They are very tired! I brought them home and made them a pot of potato soup. They had no "real food" to eat all day. This evening I have 4 large loads of cottage laundry to do. Yesterday I did 5 loads! On top of it all my tummy feels very unsettled today. So, that was my day.

I hope you have enjoyed Barb and Gerry being there today. I know they always bring a special joy into your lives.

Our prayers continue for relief from the pain for Nan and for strength for the day for Tim. I promise not to complain tomorrow! I wouldn't want to change places with you at all!!!

    Love and Prayers ~ Carol
