Monday evening

Dear Friends and Family,

We are blogging early tonight after a day of staying warm. We've had a fire burning most of the day to keep out the winter chill. Nan has been wrestling with a picc line that would not allow the nurse to draw blood this morning, a colostomy that is causing lots of pain due to a blister underneath, a fever of 100 degrees. Right now she is monitoring the TV because Dana said House might be coming on. We really enjoy that show being medical and all. They have even talked about Gleevec before on the show.

I've been working hard today getting conditions done and a few reports out. Loree is about to have a medical leave so our lives are about to change while she recovers. We will miss her so much as she covers so many different aspects of the business.

Nan just braved her way through changing her colostomy and then had asparagas soup, Kashi crackers compliments of Marilyn Bitzer and Gatorade on ice. Now settle in to watch 2 and 1/2 men, its a new episode, amazing.

Tomorrow I drive to Mt View and then Aptos which is next door to Jason and Jo but of course Jason is going to be out of town, catch them next time I guess. Hope to get home as soon as I can since Nan will be alone for the day. Nan has struggled today with trying to cope with pain, nausea and started the day with a leaking tummy bag which she managed to fix. Life is never really boring for her yet she copes as well as she can.

Today the leakage has been about 100 compared with 50 yesterday. How we hope it just stops for good.

Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts. We send our love,

tim and nan

    Hi Tim and Nan ~
I am so glad you are still having fun with the care package!! It was fun shopping for all those goodies and I'm glad they have supplied a little nourishment as well as paper supplies too. All necessary items.

Boy, did we have wind and rain today at my office - I was glad the indoors was my home. We did have a small problem with the heat in the office today. I thought it was cold this morning because they don't keep the heat on over the weekend, but as the day wore on it got colder and colder. We about froze!!! The heating company was coming out to get us going again and hopefully tomorrow the office will be warmer.

I just pray for our sweet Nan all the time and hope that leaking will completely stop - along with the pain and nausea. It's night time and a good night of sleep would be great for both of you. Keep your chins up - God is watching and He does things in His timing.

    Love and prayers, Marilyn

    Hi Mustards ~

I'm sorry you have that blister under the colostomy bag! You don't need that complication. I hope the pain subsides soon and it heals up completely. You really can't put any salve or anything on it, can you or the bag won't stick. Hmmm a new dilemma to work out.

You will really miss Loree! Are you getting any one to fill in while she's gone? That makes double duty for you. Maybe she will have a rapid recovery and will be back to work soon.

I hope you are having as beautiful a day as we are here today. It's sunny and the temperature is about 68 with no wind! Enjoy the drive and the beauties of fall around you as you do your appraisals. Take your time and breathe deeply. Don't forget to eat!

Roger is still working on those leaves! I thought he was finished.

Continued love and prayers ~ Carol
